The Playboater's Handbook II follows up on the bestselling success of the original handbook, with a complete, uptodate look at freestyle kayaking technique in a large, full color format. Written by World Champion kayaker and instructional guru, Ken Whiting, this second edition also features segments by a variety of other elite freestyle paddlers, including 2001 World Freestyle Champion Eric Jackson, Corran Addison, Steve Fisher and Tyler Curtis. The book covers the full scope of freestyle kayaking technique, from the fundamental skill sets and 'catching your first wave', to the latest and most advanced moves like the aerial loop and Tricky Whu.
With over 500 gorgeous, full color photos to support the cutting edge instruction, and with well over 50% of the book being completely new material, The Playboater's Handbook II will be a musthave for both those who did and did not take advantage of the first edition.
The Playboater's Handbook is a compilation of the techniques that Ken has developed in his 10 years of playboating. The book provides an in depth breakdown of the skills needed for any paddler to improve their playboating, and to learn new tricks. Starting with the basic play moves such as front surfing, enders, and stern squirts, a fundamental set of skills are developed which are required for the more advanced moves such as cartwheels, splitwheels, and wave wheels. Having set new instructional standards, The Playboater's Handbook will provide you with the tools you need to reach your playboating goals!
