Five Reasons To Visit Tees Barrage International White Water Centre
Summer is here and many of you may be looking for your next big day out. Well, if this is you then we are here to help as we have the perfect suggestion… Tees Barrage International White Water Centre!
Should you actually need persuading, we have put together a quick list of the best reasons to visit the TBIWWC in Stockton this summer:
1. Insane amount of water sports
So to kick things off this one might be obvious, but it’s a great reason nonetheless.
The TBIWWC offers a massive array of water sports for everyone to enjoy, including white water rafting, kayaking, powerboating, stand-up paddle boarding, bell boating and more! All of this is carried out in around the barrage where we have our very own 300m whitewater course and a 95m Diamond course which is one of the steepest in the UK.
Whatever your sport, whatever your ability, the Tees Barrage International White Water Centre has something for you!
You can also find the North Shore store on-site.
2. AirTrail
If you haven’t heard about AirTrail yet, then you must be living under a rock. AirTrail is the UK’s biggest sky trail high ropes adventure course and it’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced before!
The course is made up of four levels and features over 38 unique obstacles – including two zip lines, wobbly rope bridges, troublesome tight ropes, crazy cargo nets and swinging stepping stones, all floating high above the River Tees – for you to test your nerve on.
No equipment or experience is required to take on the AirTrail, all you need is the thirst for adventure. Plus, all ages are welcome!
3. Beautiful surroundings
Never underestimate the beauty of the Tees riverside!

4. See the widest high street in the UK
Just a short walk away from the Tees Barrage you can find Stockton High Street – the widest high street in the UK!
Lined with Georgian and medieval buildings, the town centre offers a wide array of shopping and entertainment opportunities, including music venues, galleries and cinemas for when you’re finished having fun at the Barrage.
5. Pokemon Go
If you’re an avid Pokemon hunter then you’ll be thrilled to know that TBIWWC is a hotspot for Pokemon. Once you’re done in the water or on our AirTrail why not take a walk along the riverside and see what you can catch or test your nerve in our local Pokemon gym!
